Lynds Dark Nebula

Located in the constellation Cepheus, these large star forming molecular clouds are located about 1,200 light years from us. This is a region of low and intermediate star formation known as the Cepheus Flare. The Cepheus Flare molecular cloud complex stretches almost seven full moons across the sky. This image was captured at a Stub Stewart State Park outside of Portland.
